New York City workers spend more time working and commuting than workers in any other major city in the country.
— Scott M. Stringer, New York City Comptroller

At Restoration Church, our first two core values are "Gospel Application" and "Worldview Integration." We believe that the good news of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ has holistic implications for both our identity and our ability to bend out God's love and grace to the world around us. For most of us in the city, those opportunities will primarily be found in our jobs. We hope to come alongside one other in the midst of our careers in various industries throughout the city and be encouraged to think through what it means to integrate our faith in a good, creator God into the good and creative work that we do.

As we explore, process, and celebrate together, we will be offering Vocation Commissioning services at various points throughout the year for people who have started their job within the previous 6 months. During each service, there will be a time of responsive reading, allowing participants to commit, as a group, to think through and apply the implications of God's grace in the gospel to their various fields of work. Similarly, the rest of the congregation will also be able to jointly commit to pray for and encourage participants as they seek to integrate their faith and work. Each commissioning service will last roughly 5-7 minutes during our weekly worship gathering and end with a time of prayer.

Our next scheduled Vocation Commissioning service:

May 6, 2018
October 28, 2018
